  • Quality over quantity - make a real impact through meaningful recruitment
  • End-to-end ownership across a diverse range of roles
  • Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, 2 days your way

A great place to work. With great work to do.

Join an organisation with purpose. At FMA, we act as kaitiaki (caretakers) of Aotearoa's financial services. We regulate a sector that affects all New Zealanders - ensuring it operates fairly and delivers good outcomes for everyone.

Our role is grounded in our values: Look to the Horizon, Help the Team Work, Make the Calls, and Open Hearts, Open Minds. These guide how we work, connect, and grow together.

Te Tūranga | The Role

As our next Talent Business Partner, you'll be a key player in our small, yet goal-driven Talent & Recruitment team. This is your opportunity to get closer to the business, influence senior leaders, and help shape how we attract and grow the best talent.

You'll operate in the sweet spot between hands-on recruitment and strategic talent partnering. From sourcing to selection, your focus will be on delivering an outstanding experience for both candidates and hiring managers.

With a strong brand and passionate people already in place, we're ready to elevate our talent strategy - and we're looking to you to help lead that evolution.

Your role will include:

  • Owning end-to-end recruitment across a wide variety of roles
  • Building proactive pipelines and engaging top talent
  • Guiding and coaching hiring leaders to make smart, inclusive hiring decisions
  • Identifying opportunities to improve recruitment processes and experiences

He kōrero mōu | About you

You're a recruitment and selection expert who thrives on building genuine partnerships.

You bring:

  • Proven experience managing full-cycle recruitment, with a future-focused approach to building talent pipelines.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills - you're a natural coach, listener and influencer.
  • A sharp understanding of the recruitment market, with curiosity to stay ahead of trends - experience or interest in IT recruitment is a plus.
  • A strong eye for detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative mindset - you enjoy being part of a connected People team that delivers real value across the organisation.

Ngā painga | What we offer

We take care of our people - and our benefits include:

  • 4% employer KiwiSaver contribution
  • Health and life insurance
  • Extra paid leave over Christmas
  • Public holiday swap options
  • Ongoing learning and development, including access to leadership programmes, technical training and external coaching

We also believe in bringing your whole self to work. At the FMA, diversity and inclusion are more than buzzwords - they're embedded in how we work. You'll find a genuine focus on wellbeing, meaningful connection, and a team that has your back.

Me pēhea te tuku tono | How to apply

Reach out to Kelly Winyard at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Applications close Sunday, 10 August.

If you need support with your application, just let us know - we're here to help you put your best foot forward.
