Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Community Transport Safety Coordinator to join our Transport Safety Team on a fixed-term contract. In this role, you will support the delivery of high-impact community interventions that reduce harm on Auckland's transport network.
You'll lead the design and execution of safety initiatives in collaboration with external partners such as NZ Police, schools, and community organisations. From workshops and training sessions to public events and checkpoints, you'll be at the forefront of engaging Aucklanders on key transport safety topics. You'll also contribute to the development of educational resources, analyse crash data, and support cross-agency efforts to improve road safety outcomes.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
As a seasoned professional, you will bring significant experience in community engagement and safety programme delivery, along with:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience delivering community safety interventions
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive safety-based outcomes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in workshop facilitation and event planning
- Confidence working across public, private, and community sectors
- Personal resilience and political acumen.
