- Lead and manage drivers, dispatchers, and logistics personnel, providing ongoing training and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement transportation strategies, optimizing routes for the efficient and safe delivery of goods or passengers.
- Ensure adherence to transport regulations, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
- Manage transportation budgets, optimize resource utilization, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze data, and prepare reports to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and compliance of the company’s vehicle fleet.
- Manage relationships with transport service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with transportation operations, including safety hazards and supply chain disruptions.
- Organize the purchase and maintenance of transport vehicles, equipment, and fuel.
- Liaise with clients to determine requirements and provide advice on vehicle types, purchase or hire rates, and handle complaints.
- Receive orders and bookings, plan and implement transportation schedules, and ensure goods are stored and transported in optimal conditions.
- Arrange the collection and delivery of vehicles and goods, maintain business records, and prepare operational statements and reports.
- Coordinate activities related to the arrival, departure, loading, and unloading of trains while ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Requirements: 5 years relevant work experience or minimum Level 4 qualification.
