About the Survivor Experiences Service
The Department of Internal Affairs’ Survivor Experiences Service provides a safe, supportive, and confidential space for Survivors of abuse in care to share their experiences and access personal records. Our work supports healing and acknowledges the importance of every story.
The Role: Team Administrator
As Team Administrator, you’ll play a vital behind-the-scenes role supporting our Survivor-facing teams. Your work will enable our kaimahi to focus fully on each Survivor interaction, knowing the logistics and admin are in expert hands.
This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who is independent, organised, and confident working with sensitive information in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and organisational support to managers and team members
- Coordinate travel and accommodation for Private Sessions and Relationships teams
- Format, print, collate, and distribute high-quality documents
- Maintain and improve filing systems (electronic and paper-based)
- Process referrals, manage couriering of transcripts, and support other Survivor-related activities
- Use initiative to identify and implement process improvements Be comfortable working in ambiguity and applying common sense to problem-solving
What You’ll Bring
- At least 1 year of experience supporting dynamic teams
- High levels of initiative, discretion, and emotional intelligence
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Willingness to work in-office 5 days a week A collaborative mindset and a “how can we?” attitude
