A new and exciting opportunity is available in the Allied Health Therapies team. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and clinically experienced registered Allied Health therapies clinician who is passionate about what they do but is ready to take the next step in their career. This role would suit an experienced clinical manager or someone looking at a career change and wanting to branch into a leadership role.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Te Whata Moanarua, Allied Health Therapies service is based out of the Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings. The service has Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Speech & Language Therapy; Dietitians & Allied Health Assistants and is made up of a number of different Allied Health Therapies Services including but not limited to:
- Acute and Rehabilitation MDT Inpatient Teams – both adults and paediatrics
- ORBIT Front Door Emergency Department MDT Team
- Physiotherapy Outpatients
- Hand Therapy
- Equipment Home Loan Store
The Team Leader position is one of four in Te Whata Moanarua, Allied Health Therapies Services providing operational management to a multidisciplinary team across a portion of our Allied Health Services. The role is well supported and works very closely with the Manager, two other Team Leaders and is backed by the clinical Professional Leads. This Team Leader role is responsible for the operational management of the Allied Health therapies team working in the medical acute environment, Emergency, the Acute Assessment Unit and the Children’s Hub Social Work team.
To be successful in this role you’ll be someone who has shown leadership skills and taken opportunities to lead. You must have a clinical background with a current practising certificate and come with a good understanding of both the Allied Health and acute health sector. You will be someone who has excellent communication and can think strategically. It is imperative you are able to demonstrate an understanding and application of a multidisciplinary model of practice for best patient outcomes and value the diversity across our workforce and the disciplines within the service. A passion and evidence of quality improvement initiatives and skills and an understanding of change management principles is desirable.
