New Zealand’s Aluminium Smelter (NZAS), known locally as Tiwai, is on the lookout for curious-minded individuals ready to embark on a rewarding career with us! Exciting developments are underway across a range of site-based initiatives focused on both people and processes.

We are looking for a NZ Registered Electrical Tradesperson.

Every hour of every shift, your safety and wellbeing is our number one priority. We do the work only if it is safe, and we invest to make sure every member of the team has the quality tools and training they need to do their job.

You’ll follow a structured process to optimise preventative maintenance tactics and minimise overall business costs. With a demonstrated commitment to improving safety, cost and productivity, responsibilities include:

  • Accountability for breakdown maintenance, planned preventative maintenance on numerous Reduction equipment including cranes, compressors, pot cells, conveying systems along with the maintenance and repair of associated equipment.
  • Promote and identify HSE opportunities to improve equipment, processes and behaviours

  • Willingness to work shift when required
  • Experience in a heavy commercial / Industrial background will be highly regarded.
  • An Industrial or commercial background.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise work.
  • A high standard of communication, respect for others and an ability to work productively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to develop and grow with the business.
  • A strong continuous improvement drive.
  • Committed to your growth and development and the development of yourself and the team.
