Traffic Setup & Pack Down
Ensure correct placement and visibility of signs and equipment at all times.
- Lay out cones, signs, barriers, and other traffic control devices as per the approved TMP.

Live Traffic Control
React quickly to changing conditions on site (e.g. weather, emergency services, accidents)
- Operate Stop/Go signs or two-way radios to direct traffic safely.

Safety Monitoring
Report any hazards, unsafe behaviour, or near-misses to the STMS immediately.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed by crew and site visitors.

Communication
- Maintain constant communication with STMS, team members, and machinery operators.
Provide clear instructions to co-workers and motorists to prevent confusion or accidents.
Record Keeping
- Assist STMS in documenting changes to the TMP if the layout needs to be adjusted.
Maintenance & Equipment
- Keep traffic control equipment in good condition and report damaged items.
