Mō te tūnga | About the role
A full-time on-site role in Christchurch until 28 November 2025. You will be an integral member of a small team responsible for supporting our IT users, devices and facilities to run smoothly and safely. Use your expertise in problem solving to improve customer experience by enabling our people to gain maximum benefit from Inland Revenue’s workplace devices, applications, and facilities.
Our team is responsible for IT equipment, user support, mail, staff/contractor access, vehicle fleet, building maintenance including air conditioning, cleaning and site security.
In this varied role you will:
- Provide IT front line support for our users, resolving issues in line with expected service levels.
- Undertake tasks relating to both IT and Facilities management, providing advice and support including our remote sites.
- Work in a networked way, using insights gained to identify solutions for our users.
- Maintain and improve our knowledge base by working with the team, our business partners and review and update information and processes.
- Train and coach people to work smarter with our technology systems and assist in capability uplift.

Utilise your excellent people skills, ability to relate to and connect with a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and cultures. A genuine enjoyment in communicating with people.
You must be well organised and be able to quickly adapt within an often-fast paced environment, retain new information, learn new technologies and systems.
To be successful in this position you will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes.
- IT fault diagnosis and user support, including Microsoft Office365, Azure and Exchange user administration, network patching and printer troubleshooting experience.
- Microsoft 365, A+ or Network+ certification or equivalent.
- A strong customer service ethos and the ability to interact confidently with others.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to learn and accept change.
- A willingness to share learnings and instil confidence in others to self-help.
- A Clean Drivers Licence
- A history of undertaking both IT and Facilities related tasks with the ability to multitask both.
