Manaaki Whenua is New Zealand's Crown Research Institute (CRI) for our land and environment. We are responsible for supporting Aotearoa New Zealand to develop a sustainable relationship with our land, through the delivery of exceptional science across a wide range of disciplines.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
The purpose of this role is to support the business by providing efficient and effective management of site operations by working with the site manager, onsite team members, science and support leaders, staff, tenant partners and key suppliers.
The ideal candidate for this position will be skilled in providing quality administrative services, using computerised facilities systems, able to take the lead on successful event coordination, and have a strong health and safety focus.
This position reports to the Site Operations Manager and is based at our Hamilton site close to Waikato University. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday during business hours.

To ensure your success in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- A high degree of computer literacy including MS Word, Teams, Excel and Outlook.
- Effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to follow policy and procedures whilst identifying opportunities for improvement.
- A strong health and safety focus, and the ability to apply appropriate health and safety controls.
- Consistent and dependable in fulfilling responsibilities and supporting the team.
- The ability to adjust to changing circumstances and handle unexpected challenges.
- A proactive approach, taking the necessary steps to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- A supportive style, with a willingness to provide assistance and support to other team members and foster a collaborative work environment.
Ideally you will also have experience in event management or coordination.
