The Capital Works Operator is primarily responsible for assisting in the delivery of water, wastewater and network repairs and upgrades.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Delivery of water, wastewater and network repairs and upgrades.
  • Contribute to the operations team as required.
  • Contribute to the management of the Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems while applying the procedures in all aspects of work.

  • Comply with the requirements of Veolia New Zealand Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Policy Statements, including participation at local toolbox and health and safety meetings.
  • Adhere to all written and verbal instructions, procedures and information issued by Veolia New Zealand relating to both health and safety and environmental issues and with all relevant clauses of the Integrated Business Management System Manual.
  • Comply with the requirements of the company business management system and the Quality Policy for drinking water, wastewater treatment and disposal to contribute to the company commitment to provide safe, high quality drinking water and wastewater services that consistently meets or exceeds the requirements of the Contracts.
  • Report any problems with the business management system, particularly in relation to the management of occupational health and safety, environment and drinking water.
  • Undertake such general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client and customers.

What you'll need to be successful

Qualifications:

  • National Certificate Reticulation Water and Wastewater, working towards or a willingness to achieve the required training standard.


Experience:

  • Experience in water, wastewater and stormwater network operation and maintenance is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in service delivery and / or trade is considered advantageous.


Other relevant skills or information:

  • Computer literate.
  • Current driver's licence (preferably with Class 2).
  • Ability and willingness to work out of hours when required.
    Ability to work away from home if necessary
