Te Tūranga – The Role

We are looking for a talented and versatile Graphic Designer in the early stages of their professional journey to join our dynamic Creative Marketing team. This entry-level role will see you producing high-quality visual content across digital, print, and video platforms that enhances Tait Communications' brand presence in the mission-critical communications sector.

You'll combine creative thinking with technical proficiency to deliver impactful marketing materials that connect with our audiences and reflect our values. From concept to completion, you'll manage design projects, ensuring every deliverable is visually compelling, aligned with brand guidelines, and delivered on time.

The duties of the role will include:

  • Designing and producing innovative visual content, including static and motion graphics, to position Tait Communications as an industry leader.
  • Creating layouts, assets, and motion elements using Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools.
  • Assisting with video editing and basic photography requirements.
  • Managing design projects from concept through to delivery, collaborating with stakeholders to meet briefs and deadlines.
  • Preparing and storyboarding narratives to align with brand objectives.
  • Overseeing the publishing, distribution, and maintenance of all visual resources.
  • Ensuring all materials follow brand guidelines and contribute to the ongoing refinement of our visual identity.
  • Designing and publishing digital content for websites, EDM templates, and landing pages to support campaigns and product releases.
  • Creating engaging visual content for social media and other platforms that resonates with diverse audiences.

Ō pūkenga – About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in the creative, design, or marketing industry.

You will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Digital Media, or similar – or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a creative, design, or marketing environment.
  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and other relevant tools.
  • Experience creating both static and motion graphics, with an eye for detail and brand consistency.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, balancing creativity with deadlines.

It's a bonus if you also bring:

  • Video or photography experience.
  • UX design knowledge and an understanding of digital content best practice.
  • Experience in design studios, advertising agencies, or in-house creative teams.
