The Opportunity | Ara Whiwhi Mahi
Use your expertise in any or all of Health & Safety, Business Continuity & Crisis Management, and Corporate Security to provide direction and leadership to our team. The team are responsible for delivering approaches, policies, processes and capabilities to manage risks to our people’s security, their health, safety and wellbeing, the security of our assets and to support IR leaders to operate through disruptive events.
You’ll operate as an effective and collaborative member of the Enterprise & Integrity Services wider leadership team.
In this role you will:
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of approaches to Health Safety & Wellbeing, Business Continuity & Crisis Management, and Corporate Security.
- Oversee the team’s work programme and ensure the team’s results are delivered and create the best outcomes for Inland Revenue.
- Provide information and advice to the Executive Leadership Team on IR’s overall readiness and resilience.
- Acting as an escalation point for advice on issues relating specifically to Business Continuity, Health Safety & Wellbeing and Corporate Security.
- Actively identify and manage risks within your sphere of accountability, escalating risks where appropriate.
- Champion the development of the organisational resilience tool, empowering teams to proactively manage health, safety, and security incidents, while fostering collaboration in business continuity planning and crisis response.

- Provide specialist Organisational Resilience support, advice and services across the organisation to inform quality decision making.
- Champion a performance and customer focus within your team and with the wider Enterprise & Integrity Services function.
- Identify emerging Organisational Resilience trends and provide thought leadership to support the development of innovative solutions.
- Leverage your experience leading pragmatic, service delivery focused teams.
- Act as an escalation point to resolve complex issues, manage risk and ensure the integrity of advice provided.
- Use your specialist expertise to coach and mentor others to grow their capability to achieve better customer outcomes.
- Lead, plan and execute projects or initiatives including across networked teams, taking accountability for stakeholder management, project communications and deliverables. Identify development opportunities and build individual and organisational capability by taking a system-wide view, collaborating across IR.
