About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
We are seeking a dynamic Investment Communications Manager to join our Investments Group, reporting to the Head of Investment Business Strategy. This is a hands-on position and an opportunity to lead, evolve and drive all aspects of communications and engagement for the Investments Group, ensuring the purpose and activity of the fund and its positive impact on and value to people in New Zealand is expertly conveyed both internally and externally.
Some of the work you’ll be responsible for:
- Lead and implement a targeted communications and engagement strategies for the Investments Group.
- Manage communications activity plans, stakeholder engagement and provide measurable outcomes and approaches.
- Lead the development of investments communications, building relationships within the media and investment community, and aligning messaging with ACC’s wider initiatives.
- Partner with ACC teams including Internal Communications and External Engagement to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging across channels and in public documents, media engagements, presentations, events, and select committee appearances; prepare Investment Group team members for their part in the above.
- Support the Investment Group leadership team with relationship management externally such as The Treasury and peer funds.

This is a permanent role that can be based in Wellington (preferred) or Auckland.
About you | Mōu
To be successful in this role you’ll have experience in investment or commercial environments, and a broad background in corporate communications including media relations, issues management, government relations, internal communications and modern communications and engagement strategies.
You’ll hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, possess a solid understanding of public sector operations and the machinery of Government and have experience writing for websites and media, annual report management, and Board reporting.
Your strategic thinking, excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to extract simplicity from complexity will be key strengths. You’ll have sound judgement to identify and maximise opportunities whilst minimising risk, good agility to be responsive to business needs and the ability to influence and negotiate with others.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping how content and channels deliver for our Investments Group and build upon how ACC’s investment story is told and understood.
