Your opportunity
Based at our Newstead office, this position is an essential part of our People & Capability team, reporting to our Head of People & Capability. This is a dynamic opportunity to step into a trusted advisory role where your expertise in people management and employment legislation will directly shape the success of DairyNZ’s teams. As a People & Capability Advisor, you’ll be at the heart of strategic conversations, partnering with managers to deliver tailored, fit-for-purpose HR solutions. You’ll have the chance to lead meaningful projects, influence organisational culture, and contribute to the evolution of our P&C strategy—all while building strong relationships and making a tangible impact across the business.
Key responsibilities
- HR Advisory: Provide tailored, timely advice across all HR functions—recruitment, performance, leadership, employment relations, and change management.
- Business Partnering: Build strong relationships with managers to understand their needs and deliver fit-for-purpose people solutions.
- Project Delivery: Support and lead initiatives aligned with the People & Capability strategy.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in HR systems, processes, and practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
- Compliance & Culture: Promote DairyNZ values, ensure legal compliance, and support a safe, inclusive workplace.
About you
If you’re a confident HR professional with a knack for building trusted relationships and delivering smart, tailored people solutions. With solid experience across the HR spectrum and up-to-date employment law knowledge, you thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on support. You’re collaborative, curious, and credible—ready to influence, coach, and drive continuous improvement across the organisation
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, Management, or a related field or equivalent relevant workplace experience.
- Minimum 3 years in a similar HR advisory role.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality work on time.
- Experience in group facilitation and relationship management.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR practices.
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
