Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity- Programme Specialist- Fixed term- Sept 2025 to June 2026
The opening of City Rail Link (CRL) next year will be transformational for Auckland. It will enable faster and more efficient journeys into the city centre and fringe. This fixed term specialist role contributes to increasing public transport ridership specifically for rail and focuses on the delivery of travel demand management for the city centre to support CRL opening.
You will work closely with businesses and tertiary institutions to unlock travel choices for students and city centre and fringe commuters
Key tasks will include:
- Working collaboratively with the Travel Choices and CRL Comms and Engagement teams to deliver a programme of projects and events that encourage tertiary and workplace commuters to choose public transport for their journeys into the city centre/fringe.
- Identifying leads to deliver the Travelwise CRL offering to businesses and business groupings (e.g. office buildings).
- Managing relationships with businesses to deliver maximum uptake on Day 1 of CRL opening.
- Leading delivery of targeted initiatives that reach students and city centre/fringe commuters for example: 'expos' for employees to learn about travel options, personalised journey planning clinics (in person or online) and advising employers about potential incentives they can introduce.

- A degree level qualification in a relevant discipline.
- 3 years experience in communications, engagement, marketing, transport planning or related disciplines.
- Experience of managing relationships and working collaboratively with stakeholders and partners.
- Experience engaging with businesses to support strategic goals and influence/deliver employee initiatives.
