Here at Auckland Transport, we're passionate about working together to provide transport choices for a growing, vibrant Auckland. Part of achieving that goal requires a transformational shift in the way people move around. To keep Auckland moving, we aim to improve travel choices, making it simple, easy, and highly attractive to travel by public transport and active modes.
We are seeking a motivated all-rounder to join a team of highly passionate staff who are responsible for the development and delivery of programmes, projects and events that encourage people to get out of their cars and travel on more sustainable modes of transport.
Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity- Senior Programme Specialist
The Senior Programme Specialist in our Public Transport and Active Modes team will support the development and delivery of the Travel Demand Programme, focusing on optimising the use of the existing transport network through delivery of behavioural change and engagement initiatives.
The role is diverse, and you will have the opportunity to work across a range of different programmes including "first and final leg" initiatives to support patronage growth on Auckland's Rapid Transit Network and Travel Demand Management for major infrastructure and service changes. You will also be part of the delivery team for Travelwise, AT's workplace travel planning service. Under this programme you will partner with large businesses to develop and implement tailored workplace travel strategies that influence how their employees travel, through promotion of sustainable forms of transport such as public transport, walking, cycling and flexible working.
We are seeking a champion communicator with exceptional relationship building skills, able to easily establish effective working relationships across the organisation and with stakeholders.
Ideally, you will also have a keen interest and experience in collecting, analysing, and managing data as part of programme delivery.
Also important is an understanding of transport planning, behaviour change, and a genuine passion for sustainable travel initiatives across Auckland.
