Job Description


Are you passionate about quality assurance and continuous improvement in education?

The NZMA Quality Team is seeking a new team member with a passion for supporting quality delivery and assessment. This role will undertake internal quality assurance processes, support the work with teams on improvement to processes and practices, particularly with our Land Based Training and Builders Academy brands.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further their career as a Quality Advisor - You will work closely to support the NZMA Quality Manager to undertake quality assurance processes which support best practice and enhanced student experience while working within the NZ tertiary regulatory environment.

This role has a strong operational focus, particularly supporting the Land Based Training and Builders Academy brands. You'll be involved in monitoring, reviewing, and enhancing quality processes, providing vital support to ensure regulatory compliance and excellent academic outcomes.

This is a permanent, full-time position, with the flexibility to work from both home and onsite at our campuses. Occasional domestic travel will be required as part of the role, visiting our various campuses and meeting with stakeholders.


Qualifications


You will have highly effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; and the ability to work in a deadline driven environment. You will be people orientated; positive and persistent; a self-starter with drive and motivation; focused on achievement of your accountabilities.

Required Skills/Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary level qualification in a relevant field
  • Experience in quality assurance, academic compliance, and educational evaluation, preferably in a tertiary or vocational education setting
  • Some understanding of NZQA rules, regulations, and programme accreditation requirements
  • A background in moderation, programme monitoring, or self-assessment activities is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with moderation processes, internal evaluations, and quality monitoring tools
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret and apply policy and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear reports and provide constructive feedback
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data analysis
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across different teams and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Experience with the NZQA Code of Practice and programme self-assessment activities is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use digital tools relevant to quality assurance work
