Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

As a Space Advisor, you will play a key role in the operational and administrative responsibilities of Facilities Management. You will support the Space Manager and Senior Space Advisor in managing, allocating, and optimising the use of space across the University campus. This includes:

  • Coordinating space reviews and requests
  • Supporting space planning and utilisation strategies
  • Maintaining and analysing space data and systems
  • Providing advice on space use for new developments and refurbishments
  • Managing move-related communications and logistics
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure efficient space management

Mōu | Who You Are

You will be an experienced space planning or facilities coordination professional with at least 3 years' experience in an administrative, coordination, or planning role—ideally in a large, complex environment such as a university or hospital. You will also have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Property, or Project Management
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of spatial standards or geospatial information
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and database software
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • A commitment to UC's values and cultural practices, including te reo Māori me ōna tikanga

You will be part of the Facilities Management team, working closely with the Space Manager, Senior Space Advisor, project managers, contractors, and various University departments to ensure effective space planning and utilisation.
