About the Role

As an experienced nurse, we offer you the opportunity to join our highly motivated and professional team as a Specialty Clinical Technician - Nurse Tech in Te Pae Tiaki |Emergency Department at Wellington Regional Hospital, where we can ensure that there is never a dull day! We have an amazing team environment where new skills are learnt on a daily basis.

As a Specialty Clinical Nurse - Nurse Technician you will be involved with optimising equipment use with consideration of environment, within the Te Pae Tiaki | Emergency Department (ED). The SCN works in a specialised practice area with more knowledge and skills than an expert Registered Nurse (RN). This role enhances health outcomes for patients and their whānau. This is by working directly with them when collaborating with the ED workforce to enable effective equipment and technology use in assessment, care delivery and education

Capital and Coast District operates two hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kāpiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.

About you

A New Zealand registered nurse, you will have a current practising certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand. Additionally, you will bring to this role prior experience in emergency nursing. A post graduate qualification in nursing, or study towards this is expected. Awareness of and sensitivity to individual and cultural differences is essential.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant nursing experience in the specialty of emergency nursing
  • A post graduate qualification in nursing
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation and coordinating skills
  • Commitment to speciality practice development
