This is a key third party supplier governance role within the Third Party Risk Management team. We enable BNZ to partner with confidence with third parties to deliver for our customers. Sound third party governance minimises disruption to business operations and improves customer experience by reducing third party incidents and breaches and helps BNZ to make better informed risk decisions.
This is a full time, permanent opportunity based in Auckland CBD.

We sat down with the Senior Manager – Supplier Governance & Insights (Who you’ll report to), and they let us the following about the role:
What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Provide subject matter expertise across policies, systems, processes and tools associated with the third party lifecycle, including procurement and third party risk.
- Develop end-to-end third party governance frameworks to align with relevant Group policies, regulatory and legislative requirements, which enable the provision of high quality services to BNZ.
- Ensure frameworks incorporate the growing expectations around third party risk and performance management, and responsible third party practices at BNZ including environmental, social and governance (ESG) requirements.
- Manage and maintain governance processes for the BS11 Compendium of outsourced arrangements.
- Use data and insights to monitor effectiveness and provide oversight of third party risk and procurement processes, policy and standards, and drive continuous improvement across the third party lifecycle.

This can be a very busy role, and we often have lots of priorities to juggle, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable in a fast paced environment and good at managing stakeholder’s expectations.
What attributes will this person display to be successful in this role?
- At least 5 years’ experience of corporate governance, third party risk management, or procurement in a corporate environment.
- Experience in leading governance activities on behalf of a function with responsibilities to policies and process adherence.
- Previous direct involvement in overseeing compliance activities in a regulated industry.
- Excellent senior stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with demonstrated experience drafting executive and board level documents.
- Demonstrated understanding of RBNZ regulatory requirements specific to outsourcing.
