Calling all Payroll and Administration specialists in the Hutt Valley region!
We are looking for an Administration Support Officer to join our dedicated team at Rimutaka Prison on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2026.
Based in the Rimutaka Administration Building situated outside of the main prison this is a varied role with a wide range of duties where you will be cross trained into all areas. You will bring your knowledge of manual payroll processes including employment legislation, have experience using SAP and be a proactive, intuitive thinker.
Please note, the attached job description (JD) for this position has the general working title `Administration Support Officer'. This JD covers a variety of administrative positions within the Department of Corrections.

Success will be dependent upon your;
- Excellent work ethic including strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Word/Excel/Outlook and SAP, with excellent written and verbal language skills
- Great face-to-face people skills i.e. your ability to interact confidently and professionally with people from a diverse range of cultures is essential
- Understanding of our work environment and the safety protocols required
- Ability to learn new skills quickly, follow instructions and having the courage to ask relevant questions
- Strong attention to detail i.e. being team, solution and compliance focused
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Holding a current and full (non-conditional) NZ Driver Licence

The salary range for this role is $64,717 - $68,434 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
