We’re on the lookout for a collaborative and driven ADMS Cartographer / Network Planner to help maintain the visibility and integrity of our electricity network. This is a critical role for someone who thrives on accuracy, teamwork, and translating changes in the physical network into digital clarity across our systems.

The role
Based in our Whangarei office, this role bridges the physical network with the digital world - ensuring our ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) reflects what’s really happening out there. You’ll manage updates to the single line diagram, network connectivity, supporting our planners and controllers with real-time network visibility.
You’ll be embedded in the Network Operations Planning team and work closely with internal stakeholders to support outage planning, project activities, network security analysis, and model updates.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintaining the operational model in ADMS and reflecting all changes (e.g., transformer updates)
- Ensuring accurate GIS and SCADA data to support real-time decision-making
- Building and checking network patches across geographic and schematic views
- Supporting outage coordination and safe switching sequences
- Collaborating with Controllers, GIS and system vendors to ensure visibility and accuracy
- Troubleshooting and resolving data issues related to network changes
- Work to continually improve outage planning process.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience working in GIS or SCADA (3+ years’ industry experience preferred)
- Background working in engineering teams, operations control, or network systems
- Great communication and problem-solving skills
- A flexible, team-oriented attitude and an eagerness to learn
- Ability to work under pressure and contribute to time-critical decisions
