We are looking for an Engagement Adviser to join our Governance and Executive Services team in the Office of the Board and Chief Executive to support the Commission's engagement needs, including events and stakeholder management.
This is a new fixed term position through to May 2026, based in our either Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) office or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.
The indicative salary range for this role is $78,875 - $92,794 plus 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects their individual skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.
Mo te turanga | About the role
Working closely with the Senior Adviser, Enterprise Engagement, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of stakeholder engagement and events across the Commission. You'll collaborate with internal teams and senior leaders to implement the One Commission stakeholder and communications programme, coordinate attendance at external events, and manage logistics for webinars, livestreams, and in-person engagements.
You'll also maintain stakeholder lists, manage invitations, contribute to engagement briefings, and support the Chair's engagement calendar ensuring seamless execution of seminars, workshops, and conferences.

You'll bring proven experience in best-practice engagement, outreach, marketing, or behavioural insights, ideally within a public sector or regulatory environment. With strong stakeholder management skills, you'll build trusted relationships and influence others in a collaborative and supportive way.
You'll have a solid background in project management, including familiarity with project management methodologies, enabling you to deliver key strategic initiatives effectively. Highly organised and confident working across multiple projects, you'll be proactive, solutions-focused, and able to think, write, and communicate with clarity and precision. Your exceptional attention to detail will be a key asset in everything you do.
Ideally, you'll also bring experience in event management and working knowledge of tools like MailChimp to support outreach and engagement activities.
