Te Kaunihera aa Takiwaa o Waikato (Waikato District Council) serves a large and diverse area, key towns include Raglan, Huntly, Ngaaruawaahia, Tuakau and Te Kauwhata. Smaller settlements include Gordonton, Matangi, Tamahere, Meremere, Port Waikato and Pookeno.

About this role:

At Waikato District Council, digital and information are seen as critical assets that underpin our delivery of services, enhance our operational efficiency, & empower informed decision-making. We are 4 years into our Digital Transformation journey and are about to commence the Optimisation phase of the plan where we will drive transformation across our council through leveraging technology enablers.

We are committed to innovation, excellence, and moving at pace, and we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Applications & Integration Specialist to join our team to assist with managing and optimising our application portfolio and ensuring seamless integration across various systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application management, system integration, and a keen eye for detail, ideally with considerable experience with the TechnologyOne suite of applications.

What I do?

  • Provide expert-level technical support for the maintenance & development of our enterprise grade applications and integration solutions used by Council, ensuring timely delivery of appropriate, robust, & resilient systems.
  • Identify, develop, implement, configure, & integrate Council's systems to meet requirements interacting with Business Owners, Users, Partners, Vendors, and technical consultants.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to system configuration & integration. Perform root cause analysis, including consideration of business processes, & implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand application configuration & integration requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, technical specifications, and user guides.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements as needed.

Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in application management and system integration.

What I bring?

We would envision that you will have:

  • IT or Business Degree with 3-5 years experience supporting & enhancing ERP systems.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g. ITIL, PMP, Prince2).
  • Formal training and expertise of the Technology One EPR suite of applications highly desirable, but not essential.
  • High level of competence working with Microsoft SQL.
  • Familiarity with coding principles, operating systems, and databases.
  • Experience & knowledge of software development frameworks, including Software Development Lifecycle.
  • High level of experience working within an Application DevOps environment where the organisation has a multi-vendor SaaS strategy.
  • Extensive experience delivering clear & concise Requirements/ /As-Bult Documentation which is are easily understood by technical & non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort working within a DevOps, Agile, and Waterfall project delivery environment.
  • Knowledge of process optimization and deployment.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, & communication skills
