We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to lead our dedicated team in the Tauranga region. If you have a strong eye for detail, proven leadership abilities, and a hands-on approach, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of 6+ cleaners to ensure high standards are consistently met.
- Clean and service both commercial and domestic sites while training and supporting staff on the job.
- Clean and maintain apartments as part of regular duties while providing on-the-job training.
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper with daily operations, and take full responsibility in their absence.
- Ensure efficient and fair room allocation to optimize productivity.
- Conduct routine inspections of check-out rooms, occupied spaces, public areas, corridors, and storage rooms.
- Plan and manage staff rosters based on forecasts and operational needs.
- Motivate, train, and guide the cleaning team to deliver exceptional service.
- Ensure all team members follow company policies and safety procedures.
- Monitor and control stock levels; complete monthly stock takes.
- Identify and report any health and safety risks.
- Step in to carry out cleaning duties when staff are unavailable due to leave or illness.
- Support and collaborate with management on any additional reasonable requests.
What We’re Looking For:
- Must have at least 3–4 years of relevant cleaning industry experience in New Zealand or Australia. This is an essential requirement
- Must be currently residing in New Zealand and have lived here for a minimum of 3 years.
- Required practical experience in carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and floor polishing and stripping .
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage, lead, and motivate a large team.
- A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to support a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively, especially in high-pressure environments.
- A hands-on approach, comfortable working alongside the team on the floor when needed.
- Flexible availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
- Must hold a valid International or New Zealand driver’s licence.
- Must hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence.
- Based in Wellington or willing to relocate.
