What Will You Do? | Ka aha koe?
Key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and enforcing local bylaws (Control of Dogs, Freedom Camping, Noise Control, Litter, Abandoned Vehicles
- Conducting investigations and issuing infringements where required
- Ensuring robust evidence gathering and incident reporting
- Implementing the Dog Control Act and managing the care and control of animals
- Educating the public and promoting safety across the district
- Collaborating with key stakeholders like Police, SPCA, and veterinary clinics
- Providing exceptional customer service and timely follow-up to all inquiries
Who Are You? | Ko wai koe?
We are looking for someone with:
Essential:
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and a solutions-focused mindset
- Confidence in handling dogs, including those with challenging behaviours
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and experience in enforcement or compliance (minimum 3 years)
- A full NZ driver’s licence
Desirable:
- Progress toward a NZ Certificate in Regulatory Compliance or similar
- Experience within local government or regulatory services
