Nei ngā ringa e toro atu nei ki a koe! Haeremai! Our arms are extended to you in welcome!
Safe and reliable water supply systems and effective wastewater and stormwater disposal networks are something that are easily taken for granted — whether it’s turning on the tap for a cup of tea, enjoying a hot shower, or flushing the loo. Behind the scenes, it takes dedicated people to make that happen. We're looking for a detail-focused and community-minded Water Services Data & Compliance Officer to help us keep water services running smoothly across our district.
About this role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing and maintaining systems that record and report on key water data—like consumption, losses, and service connections. You’ll help ensure we meet consent and compliance requirements by keeping accurate records and producing regular reports, while also supporting the delivery of essential water programmes such as leak detection and backflow prevention. Working closely with teams across Council, including Financial Services, you’ll help ensure accurate billing processes and contribute to planning and estimates by providing reliable water usage data. From time to time, you’ll also get out in the field to carry out inspections and sampling to support ongoing compliance and service delivery.
Skills and experience
We’re looking for someone with strong analytical skills and experience working with data systems or reporting tools. An understanding of water services, environmental compliance, or infrastructure management would be a definite advantage. You’ll need excellent attention to detail, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is a proactive, solution-focused approach to your work.
