Join our team as a Manager - District Performance Insights as a key link between our Data and Performance team and our Districts delivering the services that New Zealand expect and deserve.

You will work with senior operational leaders in Districts to deliver performance information and insights based on strategic and operational requirements to support Police's vision of making New Zealand the safest country.

You will be supporting Police in the development and delivery of the way we create and deliver insights and performance reporting to Police decision makers. You'll provide performance advice across different areas of Police, with a core focus of proactively providing quality performance insights to the organisation. You'll have a passion for using performance information to assess and improve service delivery.

You provide direct and indirect leadership of teams to deliver performance insights to the business. This will include collaborating with the wider Data and Performance team to develop and implement solutions.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Developing partnerships with operational leaders to Performance Business Partners (PBPs) to develop knowledge of the strategic and operational requirements
  • Drive focus on delivering performance information to lift performance and accountability

  • Develop and maintain in-depth understanding of the allocated Districts, their business objectives, challenges, risks and performance and data related requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Performance and Data team, accessing expertise from specialists when needed to provide consistent expertise support to people leaders and employees.
  • Provide specialist advice and insights to senior members of Districts on the effectiveness and risks to delivery and strategic outcomes and opportunities to improve performance across all areas of Police delivery.

  • Confidently and effectively deliver informative presentations face-to-face.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Performance Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Performance Advisor - or similar type roles.
  • Have proven experience and ability to understand (or gain understanding) of Police data and tools, perhaps with a background in administrative data.

This role is set at Leader/Manager level, this means your key purpose is "to lead tactics for Our Business and enable our people to deliver them".

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience and established credibility in data and/or business intelligence roles

  • 3-5 years' experience of providing advice and successfully influencing senior leadership teams on performance management, performance improvement, and embedding a culture of evidence-based decision making in large organisations.

Utu a-tau | Salar

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $110,423 and $117,014 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
