Description
ColorCote® is seeking an Engineering & Reliability Manager who brings a collaborative, people-first approach to leadership. This role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, continuous improvement, and creating a safe, inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
About the Role
This leadership position is responsible for guiding the maintenance and reliability team at our Auckland site. The role focuses on enhancing plant performance, reducing downtime, and delivering capital projects that support long-term growth. It also plays a key part in fostering a culture of safety, wellbeing, and shared success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead reliability-centred maintenance programs to improve uptime and equipment availability
- Conduct root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions
- Manage MEX (CMMS) for accurate data and reporting
- Deliver capital and plant improvement projects from concept to commissioning
- Collaborate with production, safety, and quality teams to align project scope with business needs
- Manage contractors and ensure compliance with engineering standards
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of technicians and engineers
- Monitor KPIs including OEE, downtime, and maintenance cost per unit
- Develop asset strategies including spares and lifecycle planning
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)
- 7+ years in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments, with 3+ years in leadership
- Strong knowledge of RCM, TPM, FMEA, and other reliability best practices
- Proven success in capital project delivery and engineering improvement
- Proficiency in CMMS and maintenance analytics tools
Preferred:
- Experience in steel, metals processing, or surface coating industries
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or CMRP accreditation
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Strategic and analytical thinking
