About the Role
As a Facilities Project Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in leading and delivering Council's facilities capital projects - from planning through to implementation.
You'll oversee the delivery of the capital works programme, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Working closely with colleagues across Council, contractors, consultants, and community stakeholders, you'll ensure facilities are upgraded, renewed, and developed to meet both operational and community needs.
This role is hands-on and varied. One day you might be leading a facility renewal, the next you could be managing contractor performance or identifying ways to make our facilities more sustainable and efficient. You'll also lead and support a small team fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in managing facilities and leading capital projects, ideally within local government or the public sector
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Experience in procurement, contract management, and financial oversight
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse stakeholders
- A track record of developing and supporting teams to achieve great results
- A current clean driver's licence and confidence in operating hybrid and electric vehicles
- (Desired) A relevant project management qualification
