As a Farm Systems Assessor, you’ll deliver a range of farm dairy assessments to ensure customers meet regulatory, market access, and quality programme standards. This role involves:
- Conducting 5-10 on-site audits per week and evaluations against defined standards, acts, and regulations. Plus, milk and water sampling.
- Reviewing systems and records to confirm compliance.
- Preparing clear, technically accurate, and timely audit reports.
- Following up and escalating non-conformances as required.
- Maintaining strong relationships with customers, regulators, and industry bodies.
The role is primarily based in the Waitaki region, with travel required both within and outside your designated area to meet customer needs. It typically involves 1 week of travel to the Southland region 4 times per year.
This is a permanent seasonal position. The duration of the on season is from start of October until end of April, yearly. During the on season, this role is 40 hours per week.
Key Requirements:
We’re looking for someone who is motivated to contribute to the success of New Zealand’s primary industries, with:
- Experience in the primary sector (farm dairy background essential), and knowledge of agricultural practices and systems.
- Strong communication and customer relationship management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to interpret technical standards objectively.
- Commitment to continuous learning, safe work practices, and professional integrity.
- It is advantageous if you are already MPI qualified in farm dairy assessment.
