We are a freight business operating around the Nation, based primarily in Christchurch (covering both islands in New Zealand), and are currently seeking a truck driver to join our team.
The key responsibilities may include but not limited to the following:
- Driving heavy vehicles, including a class 5 and a class 4 truck,
- Loading and unloading freight from commercial businesses.
- Ensuring compliance with vehicle load limits and safety regulations.
- Completing the necessary paperwork as required under legislation and business procedures.
- Delivering goods to specified customers with specified time frame. To assist in loading and unloading trucks.
- Maintaining the truck in clean and tidy condition to comply with the standard industry requirements;
- Filling the log book daily and handing in a copy on a fortnightly basis to the office. Picking up the manifest/paperwork from dispatch for delivery.
Skills and experience required:
- The successful candidate must hold at least a class 5 driver's licence (or overseas equivalent)
- Ability to drive forklifts
- a forklift and a dangerous goods license
- Ability to work unsupervised
- One year of relevant work experience
- Ability to pass drug and criminal history checks if required
- Must be available Monday to Saturday for rostered shift work.
- Able to stay away overnight.
- Should be physically fit as job may involve jumping up and down from the truck frequently and Heavy lifting
- References and work history are required.
Minimum of 30 hours a week.
