Salary Range: COPS $81,890 - $93,288 depending on skills and experience
About the Role - Korero mo te Turanga
We are seeking a motivated Investigations Analyst to join the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) Investigations & Compliance Support Directorate. This role is pivotal in supporting complex, significant, and novel investigations into breaches of regulations and legislation administered by MPI.
This role supports criminal investigations by providing high-quality analytical and evidential support. You'll work alongside Investigators to analyse complex data, conduct open-source enquiries, and produce intelligence products that help identify and investigate breaches of legislation. This work will span across a wide range of sectors including Food, Fisheries, Animal Welfare, Forestry, and Biosecurity.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who is:
- Confident using Excel (e.g. formatting, sorting, finding trends)
- Able to explain complex information in a simple, clear way
- Works well in a team and enjoys solving problems
- Keen to learn and take on new challenges
You must have a current full New Zealand driver licence (not temporary, learner, or provisional) or equivalent full foreign drivers licence, and any endorsements required for the type of driving you'll be doing.
About the Team - Mo to matou Ropu
You'll be joining a tight-knit team of three Analysts based in Auckland. The team is collaborative, supportive, and committed to mentoring and growing its members. Analysts are embedded in investigations - attending meetings, supporting fieldwork, and contributing tothe investigation. You'll work across teams and be assigned to investigation files, often working alongside one or more Investigators.

Higher level Security Clearance
- most preferably a New Zealand citizen who has resided continuously in New Zealand for at least the last ten (10) years, OR
- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last ten (10) years: either Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
