AUT's School of Science is seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking academic to contribute to teaching and research in one or more of the following disciplines: medical microbiology, transfusion science, pathology, immunology, diagnostic genetics, biomedical and medical laboratory science.

- Deliver engaging, research-informed teaching at undergraduate and potentially postgraduate levels.
- Supervise student research projects and support their academic success.
- Develop and review curriculum content to align with current trends and industry needs.
- Lead and participate in high-quality research, contributing to AUT's growing research profile.
- Engage in academic leadership, programme development, and internal governance.
- Support AUT's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive teaching practices.
He kōrero mōu | About you
- You'll have a relevant postgraduate qualification (Master's, PhD or equivalent).
- Expertise in biomedical and/or medical laboratory science, with teaching experience at tertiary level, or significant professional experience.
- Proven research capability and a strong interest in student-focused learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaboration and academic excellence.
- An inclusive and culturally responsive approach to education and professional practice.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a progressive career in Biomedical & Diagnostic medicine, with a strong track record of initiative, motivation, and resilience. You should be a team player with a positive attitude and a drive for success both individually and as part of the broader team.

- Start Date: As soon as possible (to be agreed with the successful candidate).
- Term: The successful candidate will secure a permanent, full-time appointment (37.5 hours per week)
- Salary ranges: Lecturer - $92,567 to $110,166. Senior Lecturer - $113,413 to $148,295 (specific step within ranges commensurate with relevant skills and experience).
