About the Role | Mō tēnei tūranga

Pharmac is on the lookout for a Legal Counsel to provide legal advice and support to Pharmac's operations. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will use your expertise to advise on -

  • Contracts and commercial arrangements between Pharmac and suppliers from the pharmaceutical and medical devices sectors;
  • Public Law and proper decision making at a Crown Entity level; and
  • Corporate Governance, internal policies, and process improvement.

Your duties and responsibilities include:

  • Using your knowledge, experience, and expertise to provide advice and guidance to Pharmac staff and decision makers.
  • Articulating Pharmac's perspective, processes, and decisions to external audiences.
  • Building networks and relationships internally and across the health sector.

Who are we looking for? | Mā‎ wai te mahi nei?

Essential:

  • Eligibility to hold a current NZ Law Society Practising Certificate
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification legal experience.
  • Critical thinking, legal talent, time management skills.

Ideally:

  • Intermediate level experience in commercial law or public law.
  • Experience and understanding of the NZ health sector.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
