What you’ll do | Hei mahi

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager: Trade, your primary focus will be to plan, develop & manage the activation and execution of our Trade strategy and support the way we develop our communications around pricing, trade events, and our wider value propositions.

Part of the wider Trade team, you will combine commercial knowledge with a deep understanding of our customers to drive short-term sales, long-term value for money perceptions, and overall brand advocacy for the Woolworths brand.


Key Priorities for the role include:

  • Drive the execution of our trade roadmap both tactically and strategically, delivering world-class brand and marketing communications across our weekly offer, trading events, and wider value propositions.

  • Collaborate with our commercial team to ensure we are delivering a compelling product and price offer to our customers every week across all channels - in-store, online and paid advertising.

  • Ensuring best-in-class execution across all trade marketing communications, including price integrity and adherence to brand guidelines.

  • Champion data-driven and insight-led decision-making to inform strategies, identify opportunities, set objectives, optimise performance and proactively mitigate challenges.

  • Maintain and grow strategic relationships within the business across Merchandise, Marketing, Operations, and Cartology teams, as well as external agency partners including creative design and media


What you’ll bring | Hei koha

This key role requires a passionate and experienced product marketer, with strong commercial understanding, a strategic and analytical mindset as well as a deep expertise in reaching audiences in a fragmented and complex media landscape, both digital and traditional. A demonstrable passion for the NZ Grower market and fresh & healthy products will be an advantage.


Your specific experience will likely reflect:

  • Deep understanding of customers, their behaviours and habits

  • Experience working with commercial teams and/or suppliers, including an understanding of commercial metrics, terminology, and pricing.

  • Exceptional collaboration, influencing and communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills, with particular focus on customer and business metrics, an ability to understand trends, question hypotheses and demonstrate ability to consider data in a decision making process

  • Proven experience in campaign management, bringing the campaign to life across all channels within a changing media landscape
