The Opportunity
We’re looking for someone enthusiastic, community-minded, and eager to learn to join our Planning team as either a Planner or Graduate Planner. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow their career, contribute to meaningful projects, and be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration.
You’ll assist in the development and implementation of planning policies, review resource consent applications, and engage with the community to ensure our district continues to thrive.
In addition to the above you will:
- Assist in preparing and reviewing resource consent applications
- Contribute to planning documents and policy development
- Provide advice and support on planning matters to stakeholders
- Conduct research and analysis to support planning decisions
- Participate in public consultations and community engagement
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in Planning, Environmental Management, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work well in a team
- A genuine interest in sustainable development and community planning
- Applicants must have the right to live and work in New Zealand
