Job Description
As a Receptionist, you’ll be the welcoming face of our hotel, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable experience from arrival to departure.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will assist guests with check-ins and check-outs, answer queries and provide support throughout their stay.
Flexibility and availability are key in this role, as you’ll be working across a rotating 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays.
Key responsibilities:
- Welcome guests from around the world, building relationships with both new and returning visitors.
- Ensure accuracy and professionalism with guest information, payments and check-in/check-out procedures.
- Provide local knowledge and promote hotel facilities, actively up-selling to maximise occupancy and revenue.
- Safely manage guest property, ensuring correct documentation and storage.
- Promote Accor loyalty programmes to enhance guest satisfaction and brand loyalty.
- Work closely with your team and other departments, including Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and Reservations, to ensure smooth operations.
We’re seeking a dedicated and personable team member with a genuine passion for people and delivering exceptional service to join our Front Office team.
This is a part-time position with a minimum of 16 hours per week, working across a rotating 7-day roster. Applicants must be available for both morning and afternoon shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
The role offers a wage of $26.28 per hour.
Qualifications
You will ideally have previous experience as a receptionist in a hotel environment, however not essential. In addition:
- Exceptional communication skills both written, verbal and non-verbal.
- You will be an organized individual with a high attention to detail who is also able to take initiative
- Previous experience in a Reservations environment is an advantage
- Prior use of Opera cloud & TARS Database or similar PMS is preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible roster including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
- You will have NZ residency or be holding a permanent NZ work visa. (immigration visa support or sponsorship is not available with this role)
