Christchurch
Full time
  • Te Waipounamu Region
  • Permanent, Full-time
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all New Zealanders. Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.

About the Role

We're looking for a strategic and experienced leader to step into the role of Regional Group Manager Asset Systems & Intelligence. This is a key position within our Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG), responsible for leading asset management strategy and intelligence across the Te Waipounamu Region.

You'll oversee the planning, coordination, and optimisation of our regional asset systems, from buildings and equipment to data and compliance. You'll work closely with regional and national teams to ensure our infrastructure is safe, sustainable, and aligned with national priorities.

About the Team

Our IIG team is focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system. We provide oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, ensuring our health facilities are fit-for-purpose and future ready.

About You

You're someone who brings a strong mix of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and people leadership. You've worked in complex environments before and know how to balance long term planning with day to day delivery. You're passionate about using data and systems to drive smarter decisions and better outcomes. You'll bring deep experience in asset management, ideally within large property or infrastructure portfolios. You're confident working with senior stakeholders, leading diverse teams, and navigating change. You understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and are committed to equity and partnership in everything you do.

You're also someone who thrives on collaboration, values continuous improvement, and brings a calm, solutions focused approach to your work. You're not just here to manage systems, you're here to help shape the future of health infrastructure in Aotearoa.

What you'll bring:

  • Extensive experience in asset management, ideally within large and complex property or infrastructure portfolios.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and driving capability uplift.
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle planning, maintenance strategies, and risk-based investment prioritisation.
  • Experience working with national frameworks, governance processes, and reporting standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across regional and national teams.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems and data platforms, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, and a commitment to equity and partnership in your leadership.
