Reporting to the General Manager People & Environment this redefined role has significant responsibility for leading and delivering safety excellence across the Moana Group. This strategic leadership role will shape our safety culture, drive innovation and ensure compliance across all sites.
You will be a trusted partner to the Executive team and senior leaders, offering strategic insights, leading cultural change and ensuring risk management, compliance and engagement is embedded at all levels.
You will coach and mentor health & safety representatives at a site level, to ensure sound knowledge, understanding and application of systems, policies and procedures, aligned to the broader group strategy and company values.
Key responsibilities:
- With support and direction from GM People & Environment lead the development and execution of the safety and wellbeing strategy and annual plans
- Drive continuous improvement across safety systems, training, risk management and compliance
- Oversee audits, investigation, emergency management and contractor systems
- Work closely with leaders and managers to deliver programs, initiatives, and change to safeguard business continuity and worker safety.
- Manage safety and wellbeing reporting, identifying critical trends and improvement opportunities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, ensuring safety and wellbeing programmes are in place across all levels and sites
- Review group policies and procedures and other Safety and Wellbeing documentation, assessing they are fit for purpose, and leading reviews and updates
What You Will Bring:
You are a senior-level Safety and Wellbeing professional with strategic thinking, process orientation, and a natural communication style that connects with diverse people at all levels. Your collaborative and integrated approach will help cultivate a highly engaged and unified culture.
You must be a highly experienced health & safety professional, with sound knowledge and leadership experience working in FMCG/Manufacturing and/or primary industries.
A natural leader, who is agile and resilient you will enjoy the challenges and rewards of leading a business in delivering results that surpass expectation and creating an environment of collective and individual accountability for safety.
You must have experience developing strategies and workplans, reporting and managing performance targets and activity, aligned to strategy. This includes expertise in managing performance indicators, and risk controls in a complex, high consequence environment and a proven ability to support leaders through a program of change that sustainably embeds best in class safety and wellbeing practices.
You are a hands-on, big-picture thinker who quickly builds credibility with leaders and workers. Highly organised and energetic, you manage multiple priorities with integrity and professionalism.
