As one of our Senior Financial Accountants you will provide expert technical financial leadership so that NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi meets its financial planning, monitoring and reporting requirements.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Work across large projects and programmes to be the trusted accounting advisor
- Work on the SPE and Annual report documents
- Share your knowledge across the financial accounting team to ensure a strong and unified team

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Strong technical financial accounting background
- Solid understanding of the requirements of public sector accounting
- Proven ability to present complex financial information to users
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to see the big picture
- Previous successful experience applying critical thinking and sound judgement
- CA-ANZ membership (CA) or international equivalent
Ko wai mātou | About us
You will be part of the financial accounting team. This team is responsible for a wide array of work delivered by an experienced group of accountants who know how to work hard but have fun together. Areas include financial accounting and appropriation management, cash management, taxation, debt management, project accounting and fixed assets.
The team sits under the CFO in Commercial and Corporate, who manage the financial management processes and systems for NZTA Waka Kotahi.
