Role: Tech lead-API development
Location: Auckland
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage APIs using APIGEE or Layer7.
- Develop and transform services to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
- Implement API security policies including OAuth, JWT, rate limiting, and IP whitelisting.
- Monitor and troubleshoot API performance and availability.
- Automate API deployment and configuration using CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain documentation and best practices for API lifecycle management.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experienced in mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM) skills, PL/1, SAS, JCL, IBM MQ, SQL, Control-M, Endevor skills.
- Strong experience with APIGEE or Layer7 API Gateway.
- Understanding of RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, and API versioning.
- Familiarity with Kong API Gateway or willingness to learn and transition.
- Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, API security, and traffic management.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
