Expressions of interest are now open for 2 Rangatahi Trustees to join us on the SkyCity Hamilton Community Trust.
Since they were established, SkyCity's three Community Trusts have proudly distributed over NZ$81.7 million in more than 5,400 grants, large and small, in Auckland, Hamilton and Queenstown.
The vision for SkyCity Hamilton Community Trust is:
"Thriving whaanau and communities"
We want our grant to support services and programmes that focus on community wellbeing, inclusive of Rangatahi. Our funding supports projects and services that focus on locally determined solutions with outcomes and impact that grows our community's capability and resilience and enables
- Community Connection e.g., Programmes and support delivered in Community Spaces
- Community Resilience including programmes that focus on well-being including mentoring and advocacy.
- Kai Solutions e.g., Maara Kai, Cooking classes, food regeneration
The Board is responsible for the distribution of SkyCity's Community Trusts' resources, setting strategy, and monitoring and evaluating grant making impact. The Board meets up to three times a year for half days.
In selecting Trustees, we will consider the following priorities:
o Youth - ensuring that there is representation with a youth perspective
o Geography - residing in the Waikato Tainui rohe
o Mana whenua/iwi - involvement in and understanding of Te Ao Māori perspectives and the wider Māori community;
o Philanthropic/not-for-profit/charitable trust governance experience;
o Social sector experience;
o Ethnic diversity - working within marginalised ethnic communities;
This is a great opportunity to help us deliver to the Trusts' priorities and further align SkyCity's community strategy.
