About the Role

We’re looking for a caring and community-minded person to join our team as a Whānau Wellbeing Connector. In this role, you’ll support tamariki and rangatahi living with neurodiversity and their whānau. You’ll listen, support, advocate and help them connect with health, education and community services. You’ll also help deliver support plans and work closely with our clinical teams.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team is a passionate collective within Te Ara Manapou and Te Kunenga Mai Rongokako (Child Development Service). Based in Hawke’s Bay, we work to empower tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau through culturally responsive, inclusive, and strengths-based approaches to care.

About you

As a Whānau Wellbeing Connector, you will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in health and/or community sectors
  • Strong relationships across community organisations in Hawke’s Bay
  • Knowledge and passion of working with complex families is a must as is a resilience in your professional practice.
  • A positive attitude and problem-solving focus
  • A Level 4 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or willingness to obtain) is desirable
  • Clean, full NZ driver’s licence

Experience and/or knowledge of neurodiversity, particularly Autism and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and its impact on the young person and their whānau is essential, as you will be walking alongside people as they navigate all aspects of the life in Hawkes Bay.
