About the Role
The Benefits Realisation Manager plays a critical role in defining, measuring, and maximising the value generated by projects and programmes across the organisation. Reporting to the PMO Manager, this position ensures that expected benefits from digital investments are defined, are closely aligned with strategic goals and are rigorously tracked and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Working collaboratively with Digital Delivery teams, project managers, business stakeholders, and senior leadership, the role establishes benefit frameworks, monitors key performance indicators, and delivers actionable insights to support informed decision-making. Additionally, the Benefits Realisation Manager champions a culture of continuous improvement by embedding best practices in benefits and value management, ensuring investments yield measurable and sustainable outcomes.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Benefits Realisation Manager sits within the Digital Delivery team and reports to the PMO Manager that sits within the Group Manager PMO & Delivery Enablement, forming part of the broader Digital Services function. Digital Delivery is a centre of excellence, established to unify programme management and strategic delivery capabilities across Digital Services. It plays a critical role in advancing nationally prioritised outcomes by driving efficient, consistent, and high-quality delivery practices. The team works closely with regional Directors Digital and partners across Digital Health Strategy and Design, Digital Applications and Products, and Digital Operations to enable successful digital transformation initiatives that support the evolving needs of New Zealand's health system.
About you
You are a seasoned digital leader with a strong technical foundation and a passion for driving effective benefits and value realisation in complex environments. You'll bring a strategic mindset, a collaborative leadership style, and a commitment to maximising value delivery aligned with organisational goals. You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a benefits realisation role or related field (e.g., project management, business analysis, change management).
- Demonstrated expertise in identifying, planning, tracking, and evaluating benefits from digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience working within complex organisations, preferably in the health sector.
- Proficiency with benefits management methodologies, tools, and a strong understanding of investment, project and programme management principles.
