We’re on the lookout for a motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join the team at New World Orewa. If you have love leading people, problem solving and want to be part of a supportive and high-performing team, this could be the role for you!

Days & Hours:

  • Sunday and Monday – 1pm – 9.30pm
  • Tuesday – Thursday – times flexible, can be day or evening shifts depending on applicants preferences.

What your day looks like:

  • Delivering outstanding customer service and resolving customer issues
  • Managing the Dry Goods team to make sure stock is put out efficiently
  • Setting up merchandise displays and ensuring the store is tidy
  • Ensuring the safety of all customers and staff while on duty including security management
  • Staff training and upskilling
  • Work closely with all departments in the store from Dry Goods, Fresh and Online with special emphasis on working alongside our Customer Service / Checkout department.
  • Working with heavy machinery including forklifts, unloading trucks and delivery vans
  • Responsible for closing the store (and learning opening if needed).

What We’re Ideally Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Duty Manager with people leadership experience in a large format retail store
  • Current Forklift License, LCQ Certificate, Managers Certificate and First Aid Certificate
  • Strong understanding of quality, stock control, and merchandising
  • Skilled in leading a busy team
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for great customer service
