About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Healthcare Assistant to join our team.
Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and supporting the clinical team. This role varies from day to day depending on the requirements of the ward.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the nursing staff
- Personal care - assisting patients with showering, feeding, mobility support etc;
- Cleaning and tidying the ward
- Stocking the ward
- Providing close observation support
- Making sure that everything is running smoothly to its highest potential
About the Service
Ward 24 is a busy 19 bed acute general medical ward specialising in acute stroke at Christchurch Hospital.
About you
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant with a passion and commitment to the delivery of high standard of care for the patients. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast paced, forward thinking, supportive environment.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in an inclusive multi-disciplinary team environment
- Ability to work all shifts as part of a rotating roster - Morning, Afternoon and Night
- Excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn
- A high attention to detail and the ability to relate to patients and their families
- A good use of initiative and problem-solving skills
- Passion to assist our patients to achieve the best health outcomes
- Previous healthcare experience desirable, but not essential
