About the Role
The Manager Digital Asset Management operates at a delivery and people leadership level, overseeing the optimisation and management of Health NZ's digital technology assets. This role is accountable for the full asset lifecycle, from acquisition and deployment through to assurance, maintenance, and eventual disposal. Responsibilities include enforcing technology standards and practices, ensuring compliance with licence agreements, and aligning asset management with commercial best practices and cost-efficiency. The role collaborates closely with peers, Digital Operations and Digital Services leadership, and other key stakeholders to ensure digital asset management supports and advances organisational business objectives.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Manager Digital Asset Management sits within the Digital Support team, part of the Digital Operations function under the wider Digital Services Group. Reporting into the Group Manager Digital Support, this team his team plays a key role in ensuring Health NZ delivers high-quality, consistent digital support experiences.The purpose of Digital Support is to ensure kaimahi and kiritaki (customers) enjoy exceptional experiences when engaging with digitally enabled services. The team is responsible for actively managing and improving the customer experience across Digital Services' products and channels, implementing service improvement plans that drive efficiency, responsiveness, and user satisfaction. Through collaboration, continuous improvement, and a strong customer focus, Digital Support helps ensure the digital services provided meet the evolving needs of the organisation and those it serves.
About you
You are a seasoned digital leader with a strong technical foundation and a passion for driving effective digital asset management across complex environments. You'll bring a strategic mindset, a collaborative leadership style, and a commitment to optimising asset lifecycle management with a focus on cost-efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence. You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in IT or relevant technical leadership roles, with a solid understanding of digital technology asset management
- At least 3 years' experience in people leadership, including mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing technical teams
- Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain an environment of continuous improvement and operational excellence across multiple disciplines
- Proven skills in conflict resolution and promoting collaboration to ensure cohesive and effective team performance
- Experience managing compliance with technology standards, licence agreements, and commercial best practices to optimise asset utilisation and reduce risk
