About us
At DairyNZ, we exist to create a better future for New Zealand dairy farming. Funded by farmers, for farmers, we use science, innovation, and sector leadership to make the levy the best investment farmers can make.
We work collaboratively across the sector, and we’re proud of the purposeful change we help drive — for people, animals, the environment, and the industry.
About the opportunity
We’re looking for a proactive and organised Administrator to join our Hamilton-based team. In this 0.6 FTE role (24 hours/week), you’ll support a variety of administrative activities across the organisation, from managing our academic peer review process, travel bookings, and catering coordination, to supporting major meetings, small projects, and wider team logistics.
You’ll report to the Executive Assistant to the CEO and work closely with a range of teams across the business. Your ability to juggle multiple priorities, provide high-quality support, and keep things running smoothly will be key to your success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating meetings, events, and travel arrangements
- Supporting leaders and team members with administration and logistics
- Assisting with onboarding and internal processes
- Creating and managing purchase orders, expense coding, and subscriptions
- Providing backup support to Executive Assistants as needed

About you
You're a capable, unflappable administrator who thrives in a role where no two days are the same. You’re relationship-focused, detail-oriented, and can adapt quickly to support multiple teams. You’ll bring:
- 2–4 years' experience in a busy admin role
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems (e.g. SharePoint)
- A can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
Bonus points if you’ve supported senior leaders before or are familiar with the dairy or primary sector.
