The role/Te mahi

As an outstanding and highly organized administrator, you will be part of a team providing essential administration support in the Faculty of Dentistry to our undergraduate and postgraduate dental programmes and dental hospital services, while also playing a vital part in the education of New Zealand’s future dental/oral health professionals.

You will provide proactive administrative support and will become a trusted point of contact for patients, students, staff and visitors.

Key tasks of the roles include:
  • Be the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, such as responding to a range of enquiries via telephone, email and in-person, regarding a wide range of the work area’s activities.
  • Supporting academic staff with all aspects of the teaching program and general administrative assistance such as teaching space bookings, diary management, travel arrangements, and organizing Faculty/teaching-related events.
  • Coordinating and carrying out human resources processes, including recruitment, timesheet management, staff induction, and off-boarding procedures.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date and well-organised administrative filing system to ensure efficient and continuous service coverage.

About our team/Mō te tīma

Divisional Services and Administration are a team of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to all the University’s internal and external customers.

As an Administrator in the Faculty of Dentistry, you will be working within a faculty dedicated to teaching and training dentists, dental specialists, oral health therapists and dental technicians, while also providing best-practice dental services to the local community.

This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term position until 18th September 2026, located in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

The appointment range for this role is Level 4 - $63,508 to $68,185. Top of Range $73,640.

The Administrator function includes Kaiwhakahaere Tari positions, which support the implementation of our Māori Strategic Framework. The salary range for Kaiwhakahaere Tari roles are $69,931 to $80,285.
